Not great. First game I've watched this tourney. I did feel the loss of Bill McLaren's considered and measured commentary. The man was something to look forward to every year, to be honest.
I know these guys are working their arses off, bit I've not seen anything this year to provide any kind of challenge to them from down at the bottom end of the world next time.
Bit of new fighting spirit reqiured. We're in danger of missing a generation of world-class players capable of doing the business on the next GB&I Lions Tour. Makes ye yearn a bit for JPR, Andy Irvine, Gordon Broon, John Jeffereys or JP MacBride. Bah.

I was brought up with the players you mentioned Craig.Agree with you about Bill McLaren.A real gentleman as well.Bill was much loved in these parts.I was so sad to hear he had passed away.I also had the good fortune to listen to Broon from Troon giving a speech at a rugby club dinner. He told a story about a South African second row forward that he played against on the 1974 Lions tour. The Springbok had a glass eye.During one passage of play he suffered a bump to the head and his glass eye came out.So during this massive game 30 players were combing the grass looking for it.Eventually someone found it and handed it to him. With no finesse whatsoever he put the eye back in.At the next line out he was standing opposite Broon who looked accross at him.Behind the eye was a big clump of grass and Broon said it was the most intimidating thing he had ever seen in his life. The story brought the house down.
