Christmas TV
What a load of shite.
Ok,sound like an old fart time.
There used to be great shows on at xmas like the 2 Ronnies and Only Fools but all we get now is soaps and crap reality shows. An hour each of Corrie,Eastenders and Emmerdale,in other words the same crap that's on about 25 times per week between them for the rest of the year.

You're showing your age tom.
the days when crimbo tele was 'special' are long gone.
A treat for kids when I was young was 'disney time'.
In those days, you never saw disney films on TV. they would tour the cinemas every year. So seeing all those clips from disney movies were magical for us kids.
nowadays, you get disney movies on TV every day of the year.
same with the 'Bond' movies. they were christmas favorites too. Now we see them all the time.
maybe that's why everyone bangs on about classics like 2 ronnies and M&W. It was the hey-day of television, when audiences accounted for over half he population.
my kids consume most of their entertainment through their computers these days.

All true Jimmy.BBC and ITV would show a blockbuster movie on xmas night which,if you hadn't seen at the cinema, you hadn't seen full stop.Nowadays, with sattelite tv and dvds, you've almost certainly seen any film they put on.

maybe the introduction of VCR's was the beginning of the end tom.
i'm going back to the days when you only got 2 or 3 movies A WEEK. So anything that was a box-office hit was special. this is back to the seventies and early eighties.
how I managed to be a film buff with that background is yet another miracle by the supreme leader.

with 4 kids what do you expect Fi.
i've seen them over and over and over and. . . . .
the one I dislike the most is the fkn 'SNOWMAN'. That poncy kid in his grand dads pyjamas. The choirboy who sounds like he is actually being interfered with during recording. The best bit is when all that's left is a pool of water, a carrot and a scarf.

As my mam would say "There's modest you are boy bach".
The irony is that cinema seemed to be dying on it's arse at that time.
