He is a filmmaker who's work includes films such as sicko / farenheit 911 & Capitalism: Love Story. He message is usually pro democracy with the fight being against far right capitalism. I've been watching 'SICKO' this morning which criticises the American health insurance industry and is well worth watching. There are a few incorrect titbits of information in there (such as the UK NHS service being free of charge although this was rectified later with a Dr highlighting the taxes we pay).I believe for all its faults, our NHS system in the UK is the envy of the world and having worked in both the NHS and private medical industry (in a non medical role), I have worked with some brilliant and admirable medical professionals.
Totally agree DJ.I consider the NHS to be the greatest achievement of any UK government. The most important thing about it is that it's free at the point of delivery apart from prescription charges (in England). The Conservative party have been in power for about two thirds of the last hundred years but I guarantee that if they announced they wanted to abolish the NHS they wouldn't win a single seat, such is the UK population's regard for it.Give me what the US right wing consider to be "the dreaded socialised medicine" any day.
Also agree about Michael Moore.Really enjoyed Bowling For Columbine as well as the films you mentioned DJ.His films are a breath of fresh air, both informative and entertaining.
The NHS is the best healthcare system in the world (For patients). It's not perfect, but it is better than anything else. Isn't it the 2nd biggest employer in the world (behind the chinese army)?
For the staff, it's still really cool. They might perhaps disagree that it's the best though

bet it's no surprise that i love micheal moore. He used to have a TV series back in the day. And his books are a good read too, 'stupid white men' being his most famous.
love this interview.
Al frankel is pretty good too [lies, and the lying liars that tell them].
