Very popular back in the 80s. I heard that Another One Bites The Dust ("oink!") would have been at least a top five hit in 1981, but the sales from reggae shops weren't registered by the BBC charts.

Goes to show how much people were influenced by tv and film. General was named after 'The Saint' and Eastwood, well, obvious

Nuff respect to Greensleeves who, along with UB40, were great reggae educators. I must have worn out the 2 Bad DJ album along with Eek A Mouse (Wa Do Dem) and Michigan and Smiley (Downpression) which had the excellent Come When Jah Call You track which remains a favourite to this day.

That's my era, Bruno...I preferred the djs then because for one thing, they left space for the music! Some good djs now but it's too much voice not enough riddim for me, they were more musical to me back in the day.

brought up on the same musical food ImanI...Rodigan and Tony Williams , mono cassette recorders!...wired up speaker box from earfone jack!!!

I would say tho, as much as I love the dub sessions from the UB's....I'm the opposite....I love the echoing vocals that give us a taste of the original versions....
take Don't Slow Down dub version....having just the right balance of vocals cutting in ....

oLdbOi.....
