The reason that Scotland has free prescriptions and university fees is because the Scottish people want it that way.

They think that giving everyone equal access to health and education is quite a good thing. And that the job of government is to try and look after the more vulnerable people in society.

That old people deserve some dignity, and poor people should be educated as well as rich people..

The Tory,s only care about themselves and their rich friends.

So, instead of using tax money to line the pockets of the super-rich, the Scottish people think that money would be better spent on those that need it the most.

If I was Scottish I would feel very proud of that achievement.

It would be great if my mom had some of the benefits that Scottish pensioners get.

It seems a bit mean to want to take that away from them.

And when it comes to uni fees none of the Westminster parties emerges with any credit.Labour introduced them, the tories increased them and, perhaps most unforgiveably of all,the liberals said in their manifesto they would abolish them and then voted to increase them.Shower of s**t,the lot of them.

The nEphie warped logic....

1) University fees - it is fantastic to have this - it was also a liberal democrat promise ..which is why they got so many votes methinks ....then they backed down...

methinks the SNP will keep it until elections ...but it may not be sustainable although we have it now - am not sure it will last ( I hope it will but....)

2) Free prescriptions for everyone ...is a travesty ..

I have a job at this point in time and do not have a chronic disease so could afford to pay the £4 blanket fee for medicines which we paid last year...but medicines are free ..

......how many people are there like me .....) how much money are we losing?
...then the Scottish govenment decides it is not going to licence some very expensive but effective cancer drug
...shuts a hospital down ....
.....stops an NHS community mental health project because "we are living in a time of austerity

To me this particular policy was just a vote enticing measure it repels me

3) Independence ... Mr Cameron...the liberal ..saying it is up to the people of Scotland

Tom (I think) touched on this first

....but there is theory ... that the Tories have decided it is better to get rid of Scotland ...which is why Mr Cameron is pushing it ...because the Tory party is much more likely to win the next elections if they don't have Scottish labour/SNP seats muddying the waters....mmmmm ?
