Ya beauty McDub....was just thinking about this...

Think I should find out more...

My intial (without really thinking) reaction is to oppose it cause I don't like splitting - think it makes ya weaker....and signs of nationalism worry me...and I find Alec annoyingly smug (although I think he is probably a very clever politician who probably believes what he is saying)

I think it will be a difficult one though cause it is cleverly being sold here as "do you want Mr Tory Cameron telling you what to do or do you want who the Scottish people voted for"..........

For the people of Scotland to decide and for the democratically elected government of Scotland to decide when the vote takes place.

How can I turn down that invitation bernie?

The English make me laugh.
They,ve been banging on all week about how the union gives all countries involved strength. How we are better off working together. That going it alone will have a detrimental effect on all party's concerned. And it will considerably weaken everyone.

The theory that union has a positive effect only seems to apply to BRITAIN.

When it comes to EUROPE, it seems the opposite applies.

If the scots approach the union the way the English have judged Europe then I think a break-up is inevitable.

Are any of these new break away states actually rich and successful ? On what basis are we thinking that a wee part of Britain will become a rich, successfull shang gri la when it breaks away from the rest of Britain...

I am not sure of what I am saying ...prepared to be shot down on this....

I,m not an expert comrade neph, but surely the argument that the English use against Europe ( we want to set our own exchange rates, offer tax incentives to corporations, set your own tax revenue, devalue currency to compete on exports) would equally apply to Scotland.

Thanks comrade Tom.

It,s down to the scots in the end, it,s just that the Tory,s are showing how hypocritical they are as usual.
