I've voted CD but Vinyl would be just as good. Downloads are fine if you like them but they are killing off CD's. I think you should be given the choice of wether you want to download or buy the single. Personally I would much rather be able to hold the merchandise in my hand with a nice shiny case and proffesionally printed artwork.

Also ... think of the potential if we were given the choice. If we were all able to downlaod a single a week before it was released on CD. How many of us here would download it AND then go and buy the single a week later? If both the download and the CD sale went towards the chart position then UB40 would be laughing.
