I work on the railways.Not long after I started one of the drivers told me a story about the royal train.This happened back in the 70s when it wasn't uncommon for traincrew to have a swift pint in work.On the day in question they needed a guard to ride up to London Paddington from Cardiff on a normal passenger train then bring Prince Charles back on the royal train.Unfortunatly the guard they selected was a raging alcoholic.He had a few cans from the buffet on the train on the way to London and then went to a pub near Paddington station for the 3 hours he had to wait before the royal train left.He staggered back to station to be told that the prince was running late and hadn't arrived yet.This annoyed the guard so he went up to a group of footman and plain clothes policemen and said Come on,where is the big-eared f****r,I want to get home.Apparently it was the fastest p45 ever issued.

Mags, We met him but we were only little, around the time he signed for Liverpool, he stayed in the streets Roy knew him from S****horpe/Skegness so he stayed with family...that's why he was here, he had to go round all the relations and that's how he ended up in my nans...sumit like that.
