Times are tough and you need to make money anyway you can. I wish Ali was coming to Houston Texas he could play at the mall...

Wow it's been a long time. I like the new website!

I loved the one and only gig I went to at Cocoa Beach. It's an idyllic venue for an audience. Sat/Standing on a beach, sand in your toes, with the Atlantic behind you, a stage with palm trees swaying in the breeze. I doubt the band enjoyed it so much, no amenities I don't think.
Another set of happy memories driving around Florida

In 30 years of playing with UB40 we have never even once been told what we were supposed to play. The idea of the promoter, the agent, or anyone including our own staff telling the band what they should be playing is laughable. UB40 would never allow ANYONE outside the band to tell us what we can and can't play. But then with us people know what they are getting. With ttvo it's never straight forward.
Except Alan Titchmarsh eh Jimbo!!!!

Yes Steve. As I said in an earlier post, the band would always complain when we turned up for some television show thinking we were going to play something new only to be told they wanted red red wine. It's happened dozens of times over the years. That's what happens when you're a guest on someone elses show. That's why, when it comes to our own shows, we make sure we call the shots.
If people are unhappy with a UB40 show it's the band that must take responsibility, not the promoter or the venue. So we take responsibility for everything, including which songs we perform.

The dampsiders must look through all the posts on here with a fine toothcomb, they have picked up on the fact that you had to play RRW on the Titmarsh show Jimmy
Such sad lives they live, btw has anybody at Reflex answered Sardi's phonecall yet? he is so desperate

They must be desperate to find some hidden inconsistency in what we say. And typically they take the subject somewhere else.

If the question is 'who chooses the songs when the band play a TV show ?'
The answer is 'The TV station'.

If the question is 'who chooses what you perform at your live shows?'
The answer is definitely 100% "THE BAND !!'

The reason ttvo ended up being told what to play by the local mayor was because he wasn't being straight with people.

I don't know why anyone bothers going there. ttvo obviously doesn't. It's not somewhere you would go for any up to date info is it?? It's a private chat room for people I'm not really interested in. I wouldn't go there again.

A conclusion I came to a long time ago was it's not worth arguing. When people are horrified by ttvo's behavour they defend it. It's because the DON'T REALLY CARE WHAT HE DOES. There standards are lower.

I know I shouldn't it's compulsive vieweing to see what else they can dredge up, and scrape the barrel because they don't have anything else much to do there

I don't think many real UB40 fans go to his holiday camp gigs Mags. It's whoever is holidaying there at the time. So yes, there isn't much for the real fans of ttvo to do but wait until the brum and london shows. If they happen. In a way I think they have been abandoned. They aren't given any real info. And there's not much life there.
