Hello Lovely Loonies !!
OMG--what was I thinking?, how vhery dhare I?
It was time for me annual hello an' howd'ya do and here I was fergettin' y'all and having a fabbo christmas with me friends and family, with only an occasional pang of guilt and still not getting round to it, even when physically poked by 'the Juice'. All I can offer is a heartfelt apology and an "I'm here now".
You see, not only did I have me gorgeous grown up chil'ren (Matt an' Amy) and me "mummy dearest" (Pat), two dogs, two cats, a bunch o' ducks and a dozen Koi carp to cater for, with Juici looking after us all admirably- but I also had my very good friend Dario and his daughter over from Toscana Italia, to spend Christmas with us. He not only brought his daughter, but tons of food and vast quantities of grog, not only but including, my favourite Brunello di Montalcino, Nobile di Montepulciano, Morellino di Scansano, several Chiantis Classico and Superiore, his home made Limoncello and Grappa (50 proof!) and 23 litres of his own Chianti from his own vines! Needless to say, we had to valiantly attempt to polish it all off before he went home, and we almost succeeded bar a couple of bottles and we all became the very beshtesht of frenge! So, you can see, not only was I very occupied but mostly unable to string two sentences together, and typing?-forget it!....
However, enough of my pathetic excuses and back to business, the reason I come on here every Chrimbo is really to thank you all for your continued and undying support and also the greetings and Birthday wishes I receive from so many of you. Too many to list, you all know I know who you are. My thanks and love to each and every one of yers. I got a lovely card from Dunx telling me to TRY and enjoy my birthday this year. I promise you I do enjoy the celebrations and the well wishes from you all (in fact, I dont know where I'd be without them!) it just gets harder to look in the mirror each year and see (and, oh God, feel) the inexorable march of time. It's also coming up to 12 months since I gave up the baccy and gained over 25 pounds in weight, much to the amusement of me band mates, which I've been working at losing and I've only about 10 pounds to go now, though Christmas has been a bit of a setback, so by the time were gigging in the new year I'll almost be back to me ole self an feeling the benefits of not smoking and giving Brian 'one lung' Travers a hard time for starting again!
Anyhoo....does the Queen go on this long? Im very much looking forward to finishing our (late) latest album and getting on the road in the new year, doing what we love for those who love us back, that's you lovely loonies.
And remember, I may not post so often, but I'm reading every day, so keep in touch.
I hope you all had a wonderful christmas and wish you all that you'd wish yourselves for a fantastic new year!
Don't let the bastards drag you down, we wont!
Big Love RBC xxx
