Sadly this Ali trying to dupe people into his gigs by using his old bands name, the band he didnt want anything to do with once his ego outgrew his already considerable frame.
Dont be fooled by imitation, this is the Kareoke version of a mighty brand, he wont be performing any original UB40 material, just the covers done badly. I believe J.B has some video footage to compare an Ali gig to a proper UB40 gig. |

Hi Kirsty,
Welcome to the "Official" UB40 website....owned and operated by the "real" UB40. I'm still miffed as to how one individual can get away with advertising as they do as well. I'm sure you'll hear more from other Loonies on this subject, perhaps even a band member and how they feel. Anyway, cheers!

Hi kirsty.
In a nutshell. Our ex-singer left the band about four years ago to embark on a solo career. according to him, UB40 had come to a creative dead-end, so he wanted to do something new. unfortunately, the public didn't seem to agree, so he had to cancel his tours. Since then he has been trying to pass himself off as UB40 with middling success. It's an illegal use of the name, but very difficult to police from this side of the world. By all means, go to the show. just don't expect to hear UB40 that's all. he won't be playing any original UB40 songs. just the cover versions. and if you want to know what his shows are like. Here's a clip. |
